  • Old Growth BC

    $50.00
The Francis/King Regional park was originally home to the Saanich people who relied on the forests and open spaces for food and shelter. The Saanich took only the wood they needed from the giant cedar forests for their canoes, clothing, household wares and ceremonial objects. The Douglas Fir trees in this area are estimated to be over 500 years old. I chose to capture two images from one ancient tree that has been down for a long time.  It is still contributing to the forest with a carpet of moss as it slowly returns to the soil. Image taken October 2021.

Up at dawn to look for moose by canoe, the sunrise was reward in itself. The cool morning air created lake fog which provided extra texture to the sunrise. North Tea Lake in Algonquin Park.

  • Peck Lake Fall Reflections

    $50.00
There is a wonderful quote by Albert Einstien "Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." In the years since, studies have shown that being in nature or simply viewing pictures of nature can reduce stress and increase our sense of well being. Peck Lake in Algonquin Park, September 2022.

On a cold morning in December ice crystals in the atmosphere formed a rainbow or what is also called a sundog around the sunrise. Cache Lake in Algonquin Park, December 2020.

  • Sunrise Reflections

    $50.00
Up very early to catch wildlife in good light, the sunrise and mist on this stretch of lake was too much to resist. I ended up using a zoom lens to focus on the reflection of the log on the water and as an unexpected bonus also captured the spiderwebs covered with dew. Algonquin Park.

Taken in late June when the nights in Algonquin Park are still cool. The sun rise started to light the shore on the far side of the lake and create a soft orange, pink glow. Brewer Lake, Algonquin Park.
